Designed as a 2U rack server, the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 is engineered to support up to two 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Platinum processors, each with a maximum power consumption of 205W. This server can accommodate a remarkable 9TB of memory, utilizing 24 DIMM slots with 128GB DIMMs and Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory, providing memory speeds of 2666/2933MHz TruDDR4.

For expansion, it offers up to 7 PCIe 3.0 slots, including a dedicated PCIe slot for RAID adapters. The server supports a flexible drive bay configuration, allowing for up to 14 hot-swap 3.5″ or 24 hot-swap 2.5″ bays, including options for AnyBay and NVMe technology, along with support for up to 2 M.2 boot drives configured in RAID 1.

In terms of HBA/RAID support, it provides hardware RAID capabilities for up to 24 ports with flash cache and up to 16 ports for HBA.
