This advanced X2 transceiver module from Finisar is hot-pluggable and adheres to the X2 MSA form factor. It features a total power consumption of just 3.5 W and operates within a temperature range from 0°C to 70°C. The device utilizes an uncooled, directly modulated Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser that operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm, allowing for a transmission distance of up to 10 km over single-mode fiber (SMF) with an SC connector. The transceiver supports full duplex transmission mode and includes Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) capabilities for enhanced performance tracking. Power supply requirements include +5.0 V, +3.3 V, and an adaptable power supply of +1.2 V. It employs an XAUI electrical interface with 4x 3.125 Gb/s for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 4x 3.1875 Gb/s for Fibre Channel, along with management and control via a 2-wire MDIO bus.
